Moles are structures that appear when cells called melanocytes, which produce the pigment that gives the skin its color, grow in groups. They are often brown, round or oval formations that can be seen all over the body.

Some of the moles are present at birth, while some appear later.

New moles may appear throughout life in genetically predisposed individuals. Moles are often found in sun-exposed areas and may change over time.

During pregnancy, adolescence, and exposure to the sun, their growth accelerates and new ones can appear.

Ordinary moles are generally oval-round, dome-like, with an average diameter of 5 mm and single color.
