Losing 100 hair strands a day is considered normal. Generally, hair loss exceeds 100 strands per day. There are many reasons for hair loss.

Diseases (thyroid disease, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia), nutritional disorders, vitamin deficiencies, certain medications, and the stress associated with environmental and social life can all lead to hair loss.

Male pattern baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia) is the most common type of hair loss. While it is more common in men, it can also occur in women.

In women, the primary cause of hair loss is often illnesses, especially iron deficiency anemia.
