Skin cancer occurs when skin cells grow abnormally. Genetic and environmental factors play a role in the observation of the disease.

Exposure to harmful UV rays, in particular, increases the risk of skin cancer. Skin cancers can occur all over the body, but are more common in areas exposed to the sun.
