It is a skin disease in which white areas appear on the skin as a result of damage to the cells called melanocytes, which give color to the skin. This disease, the exact cause of which is unknown, occurs as a result of the immune system damaging cells with wrong signals.
It is usually seen in any part of the body, including the face, hands, arms, lips, legs and genital areas.
